One of my most favorite fall treats is apple crisp. It is super easy to make and absolutely delicious. Plus the variations are endless!
Apple Cranberry Crisp
Ingredients
4 Granny Smith Apples (peeled and cut into 1/4 inch wedges)
1 1/2 Cups Cranberries (fresh or frozen)
4 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
1/4 Cup Brown Sugar (packed)
3 Tbsp Lemon Juice
1 tsp Cinnamon
1/4 tsp Ground Ginger
1/4 tsp Nutmeg
Topping
1 1/4 Cup AP Flour
1/2 Cup Rolled Oats
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
12 Tbsp Unsalted Butter (cool, not room temp)
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1/4 tsp Salt
Directions
Preheat the oven at 350. Melt butter in a cast iron skillet. Place all of the ingredients: apples, cranberries, brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg into the cast iron skillet and cook down the apples until softened - about 8 minutes. Meanwhile mix together the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and butter. Use your hands to mix together the ingredients until they are totally combined, but still crumbly. Place the crumble on top and put in the oven. Bake for 25 minutes or until the apples are soft and bubbling. Serve warm with ice cream!
