Strawberries N' Cream (Strawberry Buttercream)

Perhaps one of my most favorite of my buttercream recipes. It is light, sweet, bright, and fresh. I love to use it on yellow cake, chocolate cake, lemon cake, strawberry cake. You name it, it works! 

Strawberry Buttercream






















Ingredients
1 Cup Butter (cool)
1/2 Cup Vegetable Shortening
1/4 Cup Strawberries (Fresh or Frozen)
4 Cups Confectioners Sugar
3 Tbsp Milk

Directions
In the bowl of a mixer combine the butter, shortening and strawberries. Add the confectioners sugar one cup at a time. If the frosting is tight add the milk 1 tablespoon at a time. Whip for 3-5 minutes until light and fluffy, but also stiff. Frost your cakes immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 3 months in an airtight container.
