Game Day Rice Krispie Treats

The Super Bowl is upon us! Since I am from Boston and the Patriots are going for another ring, you better believe I am having a big Super Bowl party this year. Of course there will be nachos, seven layer dip, and chicken wings galore, but what dessert stands up to that kind of game day fare? Rice Krispie treats! Every one loves them and they are a cinch to make. Here are three delicious variations on a classic.

"Rice Krispie" Treats

Prep Time: 10 min
Total Time: 30 min

Servings: 12

Ingredients:

1 9 oz Bag of Rippled Potato Chips
3 Tbsp Butter or Margarine
4 Cups or 1 Bag of Mini Marshmallows

Directions: 

In a large pot melt the butter over medium heat. When butter is melted pour in the marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Take the pot off of the heat and break up the potato chips into large pieces and mix it all together. Put the mixture into a square baking sheet greased and lined with parchment paper. Press down with clean, wet hands and set aside for 20 minutes to cool. Cut into squares and serve.

4 Cups Rice Krispies
3 Tbsp Butter or Margarine
1/2 Cup Peanut Butter
4 Cups Mini Marshmallows

Directions:

In a large pot melt the butter over medium heat. When butter is melted pour in the marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Add the peanut butter and stir until completely incorporated. Take the pot off of the heat and pour in the rice krispies. Put the mixture into a square baking sheet greased and lined with parchment paper. Press down with clean, wet hands and set aside for 20 minutes to cool. Cut into squares and serve.

Everything and the Kitchen Sink

Ingredients:

4 Cups Rice Krispies
3 Tbsp Butter and Margarine
4 Cups Mini Marshmallows
1/3 Cup Peanuts
1/3 Cup M&M's or semi sweet chocolate chips
1/2 Cup Pretzels - in pieces
1/2 Cup Potato Chips - in pieces

Directions:

In a large pot melt the butter over medium heat. When butter is melted pour in the marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Take the pot off of the heat and pour in the rice krispies, peanuts, chocolate, pretzels, and potato chips. Stir until completely combined. Put the mixture into a square baking sheet greased and lined with parchment paper. Press down with clean, wet hands and set aside for 20 minutes to cool. Cut into squares and serve.
